Introduction (Background Research)

To design and construct a structural prototype of a water tower made out of balsa wood tower that can support its weight and withstand greatest amount of force before falling.

Background Information:

water tower is an elevated structure supporting a water tank constructed at a height sufficient to pressurize a water supply system for the distribution of potable water and to provide emergency storage for fire protection. If the water tower cannot be sturdy, it will fall off during situations such as weather. The water tower will fall, causing water to be lost and a resource of constant supply of water will be jeopardized.

Our Decision

We have decided to build a water tower with a very well built base so as to not make it fall easily. We also wanted our tower to have strong stands to support the structure. With the extra sticks we would have received from the two weight tests, we decided to add sticks diagonally and an inner structure to "hold up" the entire tower.
